Hallie Daughtry
Hallie graduated from the University of North Carolina with a degree in History and International Relations and taught American history and government in high school and college in North Carolina. She moved to Maine in 1979 and married Stephen, a civil engineering consultant. They have one daughter, a recent graduate of Smith College who is very interested in politics.
In the 80’s, Hallie became a widely exhibited craftswoman and worked for several years for the Maine Festival. She was a real estate broker until she began working for L.L.Bean where she stayed until retirement this summer.
Always active in Democratic campaigns, she ran for office in 2005, 2007 and 2009, winning two elections and losing one. For four years, she has represented District 3 on the Brunswick Town Council and has been in leadership as vice chair or chair for the last three of those years.
She has served on many committees including the Brunswick Development Corporation, the Economic Development Feasibility Committee, the Efficiency and the Facilities Committees and the Elementary School Building Committee.
