As a high school student attending Gould Academy in Bethel Maine, I promised I would move permanently to Maine as soon as I could. It took a few decades but I finally purchased my first house in Old Orchard Beach and became a full time resident in September 2001.  In between those years, my work history includes 23 years of public sector service at the Federal, State and local levels.

Rockland Town Council; Candidate for Maine State House Representative, District 47

Hi! I’m Elizabeth Dickerson, and I’m the Democratic candidate for representative to the Maine State House, District 47, Rockland, Maine, and part of Owl’s Head, Maine.
I’m in my second term on the Rockland City Council. First elected in 2008, I ran for re-election in 2011, unopposed, and was returned to my desk. The Rockland City Council is comprised of five members, who are elected at large.
In 2009, I was appointed by Mayor Deborah McNeil to serve on the Knox County Budget Committee.

Micaela Enevoldsen is a student at USM. She is originally from Colorado, but loves it out on the east coast. She loves being a student and hopes to continue to do it as long as possible! She loves to laugh and live it up on the East End in Portland with her amazing cat Nugget.

My name is Molly Feeney I am a 2008 graduate from the University of Maine, receiving a degree in Political Science with High Honors; I will be completing my Masters in Education with a concentration in the U.S. Constitution in December of 2009.  I study under the James Madison Memorial Fellowship and hope to become a High School social studies teacher. I enjoy public policy and co-chaired the original Maine Youth Advisory Council.

Candidate for Maine State House Representative, District 106

Sara’s commitment to public and volunteer service at the local community level has given her a deep appreciation for how decisions made in Augusta effect people and businesses in Freeport and Pownal.
In 2009, Sara was elected to the Freeport Town Council, where she represents the Freeport Village district as well as downtown businesses.

Shannara Gillman is a non-profit maven, avid volunteer and her daughter Seraphina’s biggest fan. She held the position of Director of Program Services at the Institute for financial Literacy for many years and now serves as the Senior development officer at Mount Dessert Island biological Laboratory. She has served on many boards including the Institute for Human Education. Chocolate is her greatest love and she doesn’t have a favorite color.

Seasoned campaign organizer that is passionate about all progressive issues. Love working with my peers to try and save the world. Past campaigns and positions include: ME Democratic Party, Democratic Nat’l Cmte, Repower America, Working America, Protect ME votes.

Anne Graham has been a nurse practitioner in pediatric health care for more than 25 years, the last 4 years in pediatric neurology. Anne owns a child health consultant business called Healthy Kids of Maine.  For the past four years, Anne has been a member of the Governor’s Early Child Care and Education task force and the Invest Early committee.

I am fortunate to live and work in a place that I love.  My home is Perry, Maine, on the coast of Washington County. 
Like many residents of this area, I wear several hats.  I work in a family owned business, Guisinger Photography, a full-service photography studio.  I also work as Program Coordinator for the international Exploratis (Elderhostel) program and run about 10-12 programs over the course of summer and fall. 
Each year, I share the wonders of Washington County with some 200 participants from all over the U.S.   I love my work and the creative life force that exists in our communitie

Emma Hales-O’Connor grew up in Boston but would spend summers in Maine with her family. She moved to Maine to attend Bates College in the 2000’s, where she completed a study abroad program teaching English in Ecuador and completed a senior thesis on youth and engagement. Her enthusiasm for involving young people in the political process has continued through her participation in the league of young voters, where she serves as Chair of the Elections Committee.

Candidate for Maine State Representatives District 55

I am a Personal Support Specialist working with a quadreplegic in her home with Alpha One. I started my caregiving career as a Homemaker with Home Care for Maine back in 2003.When I lost my other job, I moved up by taking the PSS course and started doing personal care for elders and those with disabilities in their homes. I left Home Care for Maine in February of 2009 and started working through Alpha One in March.With the personal care work, I am also a worker advocate. I am president of Local 771, MSEA-SEIU's Direct Care Worker Local.

Catherine Harper lives in Southwest Harbor, Maine. She currently works as a registered nurse assisting patients to manage their chronic diseases and make healthy lifestyle changes. She is the president of her local nurse's union- local 982 of the Maine States’ Nurses Association, MSNA. Catherine is an active democrat and is active in the Hancock County democratic committee as an executive board member and sits on state democratic committee as an alternate. In her free time she loves to sail, dance and read.

Sarah Hart is a recent graduate from Colby College with a degree in biology. After graduating Sarah worked as a legislative aide for Maine House Majority Office. She is passionate about working to remove toxic chemicals from consumer products. She is a competitive cyclist and placed 3rd at collegiate Cyclocross Nationals. Sarah grew up in Santa Barbara, California but moved to Maine as soon as she could.

Candidate for re-election, Maine State House of Representatives, District 43

Rep. Erin Herbig is serving her first term in the Legislature and serves on the Labor, Commerce, Research, and Economic Development Committee.
A Maine native, Rep. Herbig graduated from Belfast Area High School in 1999. She earned a bachelors degree in English in from Boston College in 2003.
Professionally, Rep. Herbig works as the Outreach Coordinator for Maine Farmland Trust.

Candidate for State Senate, District 25

Dana Bushee Hernandez has a proven track record as a voice and advocate for those who need it the most. She believes that in order for our citizens to feel invested in their communities, they need to feel as though their voices are not forgotten. Dana knows that if we invest in our education system, protect our natural resources, and hold our government accountable to care for ALL people, Maine will continue to be the state we love. 

Dana is a mother, writer, activist, blogger, and an emerging politician in Maine. While raising two young daughters, she is coordinator for a team of women who blog about the detrimental effects of sexualization in the media for SPARK, a New York-based non-profit geared to talk back to the status quo at SPARKmovement.org. She is the founder of Mainely Moms and Dads, a Waterville planning board member, and part of Karen Heck’s cabinet for her campaign to win mayor of Waterville. Dana lives with her husband and 2 daughters in Waterville. She is proud to be called a hippie by her parents.

Winthrop Town Council, Candidate for State Senate

Priscilla attended Vassar College for a bachelor in mathematics. She is a part of Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Augusta; Girl Scouts of Kennebec Valley Council; Many and One; UUCCA choir; Annabessacook Lake Improvement Association; Cobbossee Watershed; and many educational and environmental groups, such as Sierra Club. She is married with three children and five grandchildren, and she wishes to work on legislation for the common good as a voice for the ordinary citizen of her district.

Kathy is an educator and life-long learner.  Since graduating from Alfred University in 1996, she has worked with students of every age in a variety of settings.  Since relocating to Portland, ME in 2006, Kathy has been Executive Director of Literacy Volunteers of Greater Saco-Biddeford. She is also Special Projects Coordinator at Literacy Volunteers of Maine and teaches adult English for Speakers of Other Languages classes.  Kathy believes it is important to ensure that everyone is taught the literacy and critical thinking skills needed for full civic engagement.
