Candidate for Dover-Foxcroft School Board; Candidate for County Commission

Ms. Mackey Andrews is the founder and President of Solutions Consulting Group,LLC, an 18 year old business that provides health care and educational consulting services to states, focusing on children prenatal to eight years. Sue also has a rich history of community service endeavors, including current service on 4 committees, and is co-founder of Community First in Dover-Foxcroft. Community First was started in 2006, and is a non-partisan group focused on making positive contributions to the community and its neighbors.

Rep. Maeghan Maloney is serving her first term in the State House of Representatives and has been appointed to the Judiciary Committee. She represents part of Augusta.
Rep. Maloney grew up in Maine and her grandfather farmed potatoes in Aroostook County. As a child her family received assistance from food stamps and Tall Pines low-income housing in Lewiston. Maeghan graduated from Leavitt High School in Turner and attended Swarthmore College on a full scholarship.

I am a retired educator, current producer of organic beef, Co owner of Orchard Hill Farms with my husband of 50 years. I have one adult son and two married grandchildren; one a heterosexual marriage and one lesbian marriage. I have been a life-long Democratic activist and passionate about healthcare, sustainable agriculture and people.

Erin attended the College of Santa Fe in New Mexico, where she was a Political Science major with a focus in Women’s and Economic issues.During college she worked for Governor Bill Richardson, the New Mexico Office of International Trade and U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman. Erin took a leave of absence while in school to help village women build small businesses and teach English in Mammallapuram, India.After graduating she worked on Hillary Clinton’s campaign, but only shortly before joining Chellie Pingree’s 2008 campaign for Congress.

Willow grew up in Winterport where she spent her youth in the woods enjoying all of the outdoor activities that Maine has to offer.  Her interest in politics began at an early age where discussion of politics was commonplace at family gatherings and at the dinner table.
Willow graduated from the University of Vermont in 2002 with a B.A.

Sally Melcher grew up in Bingham and graduated from Valley High School. After graduating  from Westbrook College with a degree in nursing, I worked as a nurse in Portland before heading out to the West coast. I lived and worked in Seattle until 2005, when I moved to Fairfield, ending up in the county where I started. I currently work as a nurse in an inpatient psychiatric unit. I am engaged to a wonderful man. We plan to get married this spring at a friend’s bed and breakfast in Solon.

Isobel Moiles grew up on a blueberry farm in Waldoboro, Maine. She is a 2011 graduate of Bates College with a B.A. in Politics and minor in Russian. She spent a semester abroad in St. Petersburg, Russia, and is fascinated by the experiences of women in post-Soviet societies. Isobel spent her summers working as a counselor at an arts camp in Maine before interning with the Maine Women’s Lobby in 2010, where she helped with a civic engagement campaign called She Decides about the economic issues that matter most to women, such as paid sick days and equal pay laws.

Sarah Nelson attended Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and Columbia University in New York, graduating from Columbia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History. After working in museums and volunteering with the Water Quality Monitoring program on the Assabet River in Massachusetts, she moved to Maine and received Master’s and Ph.D.

I am a Maine native, born in Portland, Maine.  I grew up in Gray and Cundy’s Harbor.  I graduated from Mt. Ararat High School, the University of Maine at Orono, and received a Masters in Education from the University of New England. I have been married for 18 years to Kert Brown and we are the proud parents of two sons:  Jonathan(15), and Patrick (9).  We reside in Cundy’s Harbor. I have been a public school teacher for the past 20 years, and currently teach fifth grade at the Lisbon Community School.

I grew up in a large extended family in the lobstering and fishing village of Cundy’s Harbor, Maine.  I went to college in Dallas, TX to get a taste of big city life and learned that I am definitely a New England kind of gal! Over the years I have worked in hotel/restaurant management and Executive Administrative Assistant positions in the fields of Naval Architect & Engineering, Residential and Commercial Architecture, and Aviation.

After working as an advocate for students at the University Maine system, realized her passion for motivating others and working for change. Always excited for any progressive excuse to protest, march, or rally and a dorky enjoyment of governance documents and budget processes; it seems the only life possible is one that centers on activism. With a love for social media, NPR, and the weekly issue of “The New Yorker”, Ashley can think of no better program than Emerge Maine to grow as an individual, a woman, and an activist.

Amanda Pike is a native Mainer, who currently works and lives in the Portland area. After graduating from Winthrop High School, she attended McGill University, where she studied Political Science and East Asian Language and Literature.
